Keep a Secret, Keep it Professional

Summary: Lloyd. A young man thrust into the boxing world and given the world-famous label of "The Cutman". On the ring, he appears cool, calm, and collected. But this is all just a façade. Lloyd, the neurotic mess that he is, feels the need to be hypervigilant with his persona and make sure to never let his mask slip, for fear of anything being revealed about his secret civilian life. He's stuck in a circus act, forced to desperately try and juggle his celebrity persona and humble civilian persona without it all crashing down on him.

Quinn. In the WVBA, he's the energetic Minor Circuit boxer known as Disco Kid. His presence in the ring is all flashy smiles and fancy footwork, but it's a different story out of the ring. Although he tries his hardest to be the great boxer his father wants him to be, he always seems to fall short of that goal, and is seen as nothing more than a grinning disco-obsessed fool who can rarely win a match. Quinn feels trapped in this eternal cycle of disappointment and unfulfillment, and wants some sort of freedom from feeling like a round peg shoved into a square hole.

When The Cutman is hired to work at the strange organization that is the WVBA, he strikes up a close rapport with Disco Kid, both in and out of their boxing personas. But this friendship takes a turn when they start something else with each other— what initially starts as a silly secret fling, but ends up being much, much more.

After that, everything becomes a dizzying blur of bright lights, funky beats, midnight rendezvouses, passionate kisses, bloodstains, whispered secrets, and dumb young love. As Lloyd and Quinn hurtle deeper and deeper into their torrid romance —and uncover the hidden secrets of the boxing organization they're under—, they get swept up into something much bigger than them, something that could ultimately cost them their reputations... or their lives.
